The first shop was one small room.

Yen May Vintage started in 2020 in one small room at 20 Phan Thúc Duyện. The room was so small that a few rails had to stand outside. Every piece was checked by hand and photographed one at a time.

THE ROOM THAT HELD THE BEGINNING

There was little space. There was time to look closely.

New finds waited in bags on the floor. The owner went through each one by hand (fabric, seams, fastenings, wear) before deciding what stayed.

Yen May started with the thrill of finding vintage that still looks good and feels good to wear. The room was small. Every piece still got a proper look.

BEFORE A PIECE WAS POSTED

Most pieces were tried on first.

Front, back and side. Sleeves rolled once, then again. A jacket with a skirt, then with trousers. Trying things on made it easier to see the real shape, movement and small flaws a hanger could hide.

The photos helped customers understand the fit. They also helped the owner decide whether a piece belonged on the rail at all.

2021

INSTAGRAM

A new account, then back to work.

In 2021, the first Instagram account was lost, along with its posts and messages. Yen May started a new page and continued with the same everyday work: sorting clothes, replying to customers and packing orders.

SON TRA · TODAY

A different room. Much of the same work.

Today Yen May is at 45/3 An Hai Dong 1, Son Tra, with room for more rails and more visitors. Pieces still leave in suitcases.

The routine stays familiar: check the fabric, look closely at the condition, try the shape and keep only the pieces worth putting on the rail.
